Pepacton Reservoir

Pepacton Reservoir is located in Delaware County along the southern edge of Catskill Park, 45 miles west of Kingston, 45 miles southeast of Oneonta and more than 100 miles northwest of New York City. Formed by the damming of the East Branch of the Delaware River, it is 15.8 miles long. Pepacton holds 140 billion gallons at full capacity, which makes it the largest reservoir in the City system by volume. It was placed into service in 1955.
You don’t have to own a boat to enjoy the Pepacton Reservoir. Many area businesses will rent you a boat and arrange for your Access Permit. Listed below is a sampling of local outfitters. Call ahead for hours of operation.
